1 – Excursion privée : la rivière Nam Song et la vie du village à Vang Vieng

This activity is for those who want a private tour that will help them discover the different facets of Vang Vieng: its river life on a kayak, its village life and traditions, as well as its beautiful landscapes.

This tour starts around 9 a.m.
You will be picked up by an Eng- lish-speaking local guide heading towards the north of Vang Vieng. This is where, after a few explana- tions, a kayak descent on the Nam Song river will begin, along superb limestone mountains.

After about 1 hour, you will reach a Khmu village where several ethnic communities live together. You will meet a knife smith at work, an old man who uses traditional techniques developed for generations in his village.

You will then be welcomed by a Khmu family for a typical lunch in the family garden (if it rains, lunch will be served in the house). On this occasion you will be able to discuss with your guide and the family the traditions and cultures of the many ethnic minorities present in Laos. You will also learn how the local rice wine or « Lao Hai » is produced.

After lunch, your guide will lead you through the rice fields to a local rice hut to rest, taste some rice wine, and learn about the importance of agriculture in Laos.
You will be returned to the hotel in time to enjoy the sunset.
